Episode Review

At the car station a group of Berrykins are working on Cherry Jam's tour bus, trying to fix it so that she can be leaving. A delivery from "Berry Big City Motor Parts" comes for Berrykin Bruce. The berrykins see it's the new hydraulic juicer-rinser - the part they were waiting so long for to fix the bus, but they soon become sad upon realizing this means Cherry will indeed be leaving. But they have to fix it, since it would be wrong to try to claim it never showed up. Knowing that the boss will be coming back, they need to hurry up and decide something. Berrykin Becky decides that perhaps they can hide it, and when the boss returns to question all of the noise, they deny having heard it to begin with.

Meanwhile, at a croquet game. The girls notice Raspberry keeps messing up and losing, but her perky behavior is strange, since she's doing so bad. When asked, she begins to tell them about the talent show and brings up that the Talent Scout gave her a calling card, telling her that they worked at the Fashion Design Department in Berry Big City. Since they liked her work, they wanted her to call them later.

The girls ask why she hasn't called yet, to which she mentions being too nervous and worried to do so. But Strawberry points out that she won't even know until she calls, so Blueberry dials the phone number for her and taking the phone, Raspberry is pleasantly surprised by the reaction she was given and she explains they asked her to come to Berry Big City in order to make a brand new line of her glitter gowns. She ask Cherry for help to make sure she acts properly and comes off as she should, but Cherry tells her to just be herself and she'll be fine.

Later, Cherry Jam is playing with some berrykins when Berrykin Bruce comes by to mention the part for her tour bus hasn't arrived yet but she seems fine with it, telling him that she isn't in a hurry. So Berrykin Bruce calls Berry Big City Motor Parts in order to find out what happened, unaware of the suddenly nervous Berrykins behind him...

Later, Raspberry asks for some advice from Strawberry about which dress she should wear when she leaves, then mentions her concern about Cherry, who hasn't been acting so happy. However, Strawberry tells her to just try and talk with her first before making accusations. As she is preparing to leave a little bit later, Strawberry pulls her aside to ask if she spoke with Cherry yet, but she says when she tried, it only came out as if she was asking for an opinion, not a honestly concerned question.

The girls are once playing croquet. When it is Plum's turn, she accidentally rips her dress. She expresses sadness, since Raspberry isn't there to fix it.

That evening, to their surprise they get an email from Raspberry. She seems happy and comments that the City has everything she could ask for. She then reveals that her staff has decided they would like for her to move there.

The girls find themselves suddenly very sad. But Cherry seemed to have known this would happen and is less then happy.

Raspberry's new look

The following day, they stare in shock as Raspberry arrives in the Butterfly Bus, dressed in very weird attire, along with a ladybug from Berry Big City. Her name is Mavis Maraschino, the hostess of "Fashion Further Forward Show". She stares out of shock when Cherry greets her, only to suddenly remember her after Cherry mentions she is Cherry Jam. Which then makes Mavis accuse the others of holding her hostage, considering she doesn't look how she normally did back in the City. However, they have no clue how to respond and are not given time as Mavis and Raspberry head over to her Boutique.

Once there, the ladybug tells Raspberry that she should just leave all of this old stuff behind, since it's pretty unappealing to her. She asks if a Glamour Studio is in this town and she orders the other girls to leave. They then go to Lemon Salon, where she talks with someone over the phone, describing how Raspberry's new studio will be designed. Lemon is trying to give her a unique hairstyle before she is being asked why the facial mask has no guava in it. Which makes Lemon a bit upset as Cherry comments on how most designers from the city are snobby and rude.

This makes Mavis claim Cherry to be jealous, though Strawberry tells Raspberry to ask Cherry herself instead of listening to Mavis, who is only trying to make Raspberry feel and think the way she and everyone in Berry Big City does.

That night, Cherry Jam is playing a new song as the other girls sing with her while they overlook a bunch of pictures they took of Raspberry, hanging them up and decorating the area around them. Strawberry is very happy and thinks Raspberry will love the song when Plum informs them she isn't coming since Mavis thinks she needs beauty sleep. The girls are beginning to worry about Raspberry now, since they are beginning to see that Mavis isn't a good influence. So Strawberry takes that time to ask Cherry why she isn't happy, since nobody had earlier. Cherry then explains that being famous can change people, so she's been very worried about Raspberry.

The next day as the two are preparing to leave, Mavis asks Raspberry why she bothered to come back to the Cafe, to which Raspberry sees its empty and closed. She then remembers that her most favorite Berry Bitty City event is going on today! She then rushes off to go attend it and she wonders why the other girls didn't bother to remind her of it. She sees the other girls in the water, but Cherry is on the dock and she asks about it. Cherry explains that she would have felt badly taking Raspberry's boat without her and since she didn't show up, she had no way of knowing if Raspberry would come or not.

It's then Raspberry explains that she forgot about the party, then she is asked by Cherry to join her on the boat.
Holding Hands
Happily, Raspberry gets inside as Mavis tries to convince her otherwise - but as this goes on, Mavis falls into the lake.

The others share a laugh at her expense, feeling she deserved it as Raspberry apologizes for thinking that Cherry was jealous. The episode ends as the two share a hug and she is welcomed home.

  • Berrykin Becky: The gadget we got? We just didn't get it, got it?

  • (Mavis does not understand what Cherry is doing in the village)</span>
  • Cherry: No, I'm just taking some time off here.
  • Mavis Maraschino: They're holding you prisoner, aren't they?

  • (after being introduced and behaving very rudely, Mavis walks away)
  • Orange: Uhm... what was THAT?
  • Plum: If you find out, DON'T tell me. I don't think I want to know.

  • Cherry: When you're a star, sometimes it's hard to be yourself. Raspberry isn't acting like herself. And the Raspberry we knew was happier.

  • Cherry: The stars shine much brighter here than in Berry Big City.

Raspberry realizes that following a dream can be no fun, if she has to change everything about herself for that purpose, and become a totally different person. Her happiness and friends are more important and like her for who she is.

  • It is confirmed in this episode that Cherry has decided to become a resident of Berry Bitty City.
  • In this episode Raspberry reveals that the sewing machine she always uses in the series was her very first owned sewing machine.
  • This is the first appearance of Berrykin Becky and Mavis Maraschino.
  • The only occasion that Mavis visits Berry Bitty City without being accompanied by her assistant.
  • Berrykin Becky's name is not mentioned in this episode, but in later episode "All Dogs Allowed".
  • Berrykin Becky tells Berrykin Bruce "Berrykin Byron installing a new set of lug nuts". So far, no Berrykin named Byron has appeared on the show.
  • Why did Mavis have to borrow Cherry's tour bus? She could have left the same way she arrived - using the Butterfly Bus.
